As a major tourism destination of Tennessee and the American South in general, Pigeon Forge has millions of people visit the area each year – that means “Yes” we can have varying amounts of traffic for most seasons of that year. The factors that determine what traffic can be expected are how warm it is outside (the warmer it is, the more people that are out, even in 90 degree temperatures), whether school is in season for kids nationwide, and how many colors the leaves of the mountains are (Autumn color change peak). Unless one of the two annual Rod Runs are in town, it’s generally not stand-still traffic, it means getting somewhere that would take 10 minutes will take 15-20 minutes, but traffic is a reality for a major tourism area like Pigeon Forge.
